DCP Microdevelopments is a family run business and we are proud to have been in business for over 30 years supplying schools, universities and consumers with our products. We believe technology should make life easier, not more difficult, and strive to build this principle into every one of the products we design.
We have our HQ and distribution centre in Norfolk on the East coast of Britain and nearly all of our products are manufactured in the UK, most of them within 50 miles of our base.
The aim of this new DCP express shopping site is to make ordering any DCP product easy and quick for all of our customers and as ever we always welcome feedback on our products and our service.
Ordering From DCP Express:
To order just browse through our online shop, click on items of interest then click ‘Add to Basket’ on any item that you wish to buy. When you have finished shopping, click Checkout which is at the top of the page. You will then be asked to either sign in if you have used our site before or enter your shipping and payment details so that we can process your order. A VAT invoice is normally emailed to you as part of the shipping process and is also available to view or print by logging into your account and reviewing your Previous orders.
Please note that whilst we endeavour to ensure all product information on this site is correct and products offered are actually available from stock or within a few days, occasionally we may run out as we also take orders by other methods such as mail and telephone. Rest assured if this happens we will promptly advise you of the delivery time and if prepaid offer an immediate refund - we always try and treat our customers as we want to be treated ourselves and it is never our intention to take payment for any item we do not have available.
We aim to process and despatch all stock orders received by midday on the same day where possible or at worse case within 2 working days, national public holidays and christmas-new year excepted. Whilst most items will be despatched within this time, please allow 3-5 days for delivery within the UK, 10-15 days for Europe and 14-28 days for the rest of the world.
Consumers and Businesses: We accept secure online payment by most major credit and debit cards, cheque by post or bank transfer. Payment is only accepted in UK pounds and if paying from outside of the uk by bank transfer please note you must pay all of your banks transfer and currency charges so that we receive the full amount for the goods ordered.
At DCP Express, we want you to receive your purchase in the same great condition it left us and we take great care in packing items securely and safely. But in the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged please contact us by email or phone within 3 working days so that we can resolve promptly - if you sign for a damaged or incomplete consignment from the Royal Mail or carrier please clearly sign it as ‘damaged’ or ‘unchecked’ at the time of delivery as this greatly speeds up resolution.
We have standardised on a simple single low price of £4 for UK delivery which includes carriage, packaging and handling. Most standard UK orders are delivered by Royal Mail or carrier depending on the value and weight of the order. We can also ship by special services on request, subject to additional charges - please contact DCP for details.
Overseas & non-mainland UK:
An automated online system calculates carriage both by the value of your order and the country it is shipping to. However for overseas and non-mainland UK orders please advise your requirements and we will be happy to quote on specific carriage cost to your country.
Most of the products we supply are guaranteed for a period of 1 year from purchase date providing they have been used correctly and looked after - notable exceptions include batteries and tools which may natually deteriorate or wear out. But as with all other aspects of our business and service we want you to be happy with your product and feel that it offers you good value and durability, so if you are unhappy with something, even if it is a little over a year old, contact us!
As we have said previously we want you to be entirely satisfied with both our products and service.
If you are not happy with something we encourage you first to contact us by phone or email so that we can try and see if it is something we can put right for you quickly.
Or if you are just not happy with your purchase and do not wish to contact us, please return it to us within 5 days of receipt and we will then make a refund, provided the goods are returned in perfect condition and in their original packaging. You must return the delivery note/invoice with the item and also state the reason for the return or fault. We do not normally refund your postage costs unless an item arrives damaged due to our negligence and only if a refund of your postage costs has been specifically agreed with us before you send it back. Your statutory rights are not affected. E&OE
As a producer of electronic products DCP Microdevelopments comply with WEEE regulations by offering a free take back service. Customers who purchase a new product from DCP to replace a similar function product may return the item they are replacing and DCP will responsibly dispose of/recycle free of charge.
Customers can return their item(s) within 28 days of the purchase of a new similar product from DCP in person (Monday-Friday 0900-1700) or by post or carrier at their own expense and DCP will responsibly dispose of/recycle of the item(s) free of charge.
All of DCP Microdevelopments products are classified as ‘very small WEEE’ (less than 25cm on their longest side) and will consequently be safely stored temporarily for disposal/recycling in appropriate batches (NWFD 4).

Keeping up to date
From time to time we like to be able to tell our customers about new products we are offering or genuine special offers on items and carriage etc. So if you would like to receive occasional newsletters from us make sure you sign up for our newsletter when you sign in or place your first order. We will never bombard you with newsletters and never ever sell your name to third parties - we will treat you as we like to be treated ourselves.
